Another St.Patricks Day parade
After Scranton’s huge event yesterday, neighboring city Wilkes Barre PA will have its St. Patrick’s day parade event today, Sunday.
The entire weekend in Northeast Pennsylvania devoted to the Irish holiday. And with good reason.
The Irish, like them or not, were key builders in this part of the country. They work, live, plant roots, raise children and stay. Even though the area has its share of warts, the Irish make it their proud home.
As an Italian american I can say it is similar for my heritage however the Irish have us beat with respect to real pride. Watch when they get together, they laugh and hold their heads high even when it’s raining crap from the sky.
Way to go Irish.
