When the economy goes sour one of the biggest challenges for working people is the increased preciousness of your current job.
There are less alternatives available and the company start crying the money blues, so its stress time.
If you have a job you hate, even if the economy is bad, don’t give up.
I believe there is an opportunity our there for everyone who wants to work.
Don’t take the crap. Just keep chugging along until your door finally opens.
Just because the economy is bad it doesn’t mean you have to hate your job.

Honoring the mothers of the world is a great idea. The mother is the backbone of all families and societies.
Mothers are not necessarily the ones who push out the babies. Adoptive mothers are very important. In fact, adoptive mothers go through more anquish in their efforts for adotping children and raising them than most biological mothers in my opinion.
To the adoptive moms out there, those children are yours once you take them into your heart.
They are not someone else’s.
THe children don’t care where they came from, just where they are and who is parenting them.
A good adoptive parent is the savior for an unwanted child.

I was insulted by my boss yesterday. The guy is a real bum. I hate even talking about it because I have to think about that bastard.
He’s a stupid jerk who got his job by firmly kissing the ass of the other bosses.
What can I do?
Really nothing. And, my plight is the same as millions of other people.
It can be very difficult to take an insult, especially in a professional environment.
Today I’ll vent about it but on Monday, I’ll forward a reply to the insults.
I took my pain out on my family which is wrong.
There has to be something better out there I can do that won’t require being called names for doing what I think is right.
I really need a new job.

I’m turning 50 this year.
I’m not happy about it because it represents a marker. It marks a place in life where someone should have everything under control…your job, family, relationship, finances, friends, etc.
If you don’t have all that together and in place by 50, you’re in deep doo-doo in my opinion. Or I should say I’m in deep doo-doo.
There’s not that much time left to get everything right. And, making changes at 50 is a lot scarier than 30.
Is this a mid-life crisis?

Where I live the most secure and sucessful people are those who work for the government….city, county, state and federal.
Maybe they don’t make the most money but they don’t have the stress and corporate bullcrap where you could be fired at any time for no reason.
There are rules in government work.
Yes, there is lots of corruption there too. Take my word, if you watch government workers and compare them to the poor suckers working for peanuts for a blood sucking corporation on a given day for couple of hours in a given day, you will see the government workers are happier.

Anyone choosing a career should make sure to really think it through. Don’t let any options scare you away.
If you want to be a lawyer, go for it and use your skills to get it. One thing about living in the US is if you choose to be something, noone will stop you besides yourself.
Don’t end up like me where I squandered my education years unfocused and aimless. My life has been a series of dull and annoying sales or management jobs.
Now at the age of 50 I’m desperately seeking to change my career because I can’t deal with sales anymore.
This is not something you want to be doing at this age. You should be reaching the pinnacle of your career.
Choose wisely.

Sometimes it’s hard to be thankful. IF you’re having career problems, illness in your family, relationship issues, and other burdens it can be hard to say thank you to God for such a hard life.
You have to step back and take a good look. If you feel well on this day, pass it on to the people around you. Look at the gift of life and what it brings. Enjoy the scenery, breathe, exercise, do something right for yourself. Try to make everyone else’s day better.
It has it’s paybacks. And, at the end of the day, if those around you love you…be thankful.
It is hard sometimes.
But being bitter only makes it worse.

I suffer from depression and anxiety on a daily basis. It seems to really hit on the weekends when I’m supposed to be having a good time or relaxing. When I’m at work I feel better…maybe it’s because at work I’m supposed to feel lousy.
I’ve tried everything and nothing works. It ends up being a real downer for my family when my depression turns to anger or other unpleasant attitudes.
SOmetimes I think they would be better off without me.
Unfortunately, I’ll often blame them for my moods even though I know I would be devastated if they weren’t around.
It rots because I can’t seem to control it.
How do you control your moods? How can someone stop a depressed feeling and turn it around?

We bought some inflatable kayaks as a way to try to bring some fun into our lives.
Well today we’re going to give them a go.
Everyone I mentioned these boats too laughs when told.
I don’t know why, but it’s happened three or four times…I’d say “we bought some inflatable kayaks” and their reponse would be “ha ha.”
I guess we’ll find out this weekend.
Maybe because I’m approaching middle age no one thinks I can do this. My only worry is getting wet. I don’t want to flip them.
Otherwise, I think they’ll be fun.
Did you ever use these?

I’m a conservative Christian with a tendancy to wander mentally into the other side. I never really touch anything…I just look when I go there.
I must say the liberal, new age, artistic, environmentalist type women are by far the hottest.
I think that’s why men pursue liberal goals…. so they can meet these hot women.
I write for a local newspaper and I love it when they assign me some kind of puff piece at a local university about let’s say preserving wildlife. When I get there I’m totally distracted by the wealth of hot, young and I must say slightly loose women.
It becomes a boob and butt feast for the eyes.
Thank you ladies.
